ÉMJS participates in several passive fundraising opportunities that require very little effort for families — things that can be part of your regular routine. These funds all go towards many annual projects that the PAC supports. Every little bit helps!

Thrifty Foods Smile Card

Using cash, credit or debit, load your Smile Card with money before you pay for your groceries, then use your Smile Card to pay your grocery bill. When the card balance is running low, load it up again and continue to support EMJS every time you shop! It’s that simple! At the end of each school year, Thrifty Foods donates 5% of the total amount loaded onto ÉMJS Smile Cards, to a maximum of $3,000. There is absolutely no cost to you and you can still collect Air Miles on your grocery order. If you need a Smile Card, please contact

Fairway Market Community Card

Just like the Smile Card, load money onto your ÉMJS Fairway Market Community card using cash, credit card or debit card BEFORE the cashier starts ringing your order through. You can then pay for your purchases with your Community Card. 5% of all money loaded onto the Community Card will be paid back to ÉMJS. If you need a Fairway Card, please contact

Cobs Bread “Dough Raiser” Program

When you make a purchase at the 2178 Oak Bay Avenue location, let the cashier know that we have a “Dough Raiser” account there under the name “Margaret Jenkins” and 5% of your purchase will be paid back to the school.

Finn & Izzy “Give ‘Back to School’ Project

When you purchase shoes with a value of $40 or more, Finn & Izzy (2259 Oak Bay Avenue) will donate $5 per pair to Margaret Jenkins.

Return-It Bottle Depot

An account under the name “École Margaret Jenkins PAC” has been set up and can be used at any of the Return-It Bottle Depot locations: 655 Queens Avenue, 4261 Glanford Avenue and 3961 Quadra Street. When you drop off your returnable containers, let the attendant know BEFORE they start processing your order that you would like your payout to go to our school. 100% of the funds are returned to our school.
